ELEKTRODA ZAGREB was founded in Zagreb in 1948 as one of the first manufacturers of additional welding materials in Europe.
From its foundation in 1948 until 1954, the production of electrodes was based on dipping technology, and from 1954 it gradually switched to pressing technology, where significant successes were achieved that resulted in obtaining international certificates.

In accordance with the needs of the market, the range of electrodes also expanded, and in 1954, ELEKTRODA ZAGREB started its own production of welding machines, becoming the leading manufacturer of machines and additional welding materials in the region.
Years of intensive development and expansion of production capacity followed, as well as an increase in placement on the domestic and foreign markets, and in 1963 a wire drawing plant was put into operation in Konjščina, and in the mid-70s a new hall for the production of electrodes was built and expanded and storage areas.
In the period from 1968 to 1980, more than 20 types of electrodes were developed and perfected, which, with certain improvements, still form the backbone of the production program today.
In addition to the production of electrodes, in the second half of the 80s, investments were made and developed into a new product range - welding wire, which is becoming more and more popular and its application is growing more and more.
At the end of the 80s and the beginning of the 90s, the plant for the production of welding machines and the plant for drawing wire and the production of armatures are separated, and Elektroda Zagreb itself, as the parent company, as part of the democratic changes in the Republic of Croatia and privatization, is transformed into a joint-stock company, and the main activity of the company remains the production of additional welding materials.
With the end of the war in the mid-1990s, significant investments were made and an additional increase in capacity was accomplished, and the company took a leading position on the domestic market, but also conquered some new export markets.

Due to the expansion of the city of Zagreb, in 2006, the administration decided to move to a new location at the entrance to the city of Zaprešić, where Elektroda Zagreb still operates today.
Through three investment cycles, of which the first was completed in 2018, the second in 2022, and the third in 2024, Elektroda Zagreb continuously invests in its production with the support of funds from the European Union.

In this way, following the latest global trends in the production of electrodes and welding wire with great dedication to product development, quality and control, and all in accordance with the implemented ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems, Elektroda Zagreb is further strengthening its market position.
